This is cool. Reminds me of something you'd see in Adobe's designs. Your composition vs your message is a little conflicting though. You're dealing with staying in a place for a long time but the place... isn't a place, rather an abstract background. If you resembled a recognizable place (a building, street, empty room perhaps?) I think it'd have a clearer message. But that's technical stuff. If you're purely talking about the image itself I'd say the subject is very detailed when viewed against the background making the background a bit plain. You have a bit of detail in the bottom right corner which is a good start but could do with more all round. Either continue the striped pattern you have or add varied shapes, even something as simple as squares with different sizes/opacity levels. To avoid an explosion of detail you could limit the background to a single tone (as you've done). That way it doesn't matter how much detail you add it never pulls your eye away from the foreground. Other than that, your subject and choice of colour is fantastic!
